The Enkhuizen Nautical College is often visited by foreign students that have the intention to move on to Commercial Shipping.
The 'Certificate of Competency' (CoC) "Officer all Ships" that is issued by the Dutch Government, is transferable to a so called 'Certificate of Equivalency' issued by your local government.

Roadmap
Four years before or after succesfully attending the KZV and the GZV (two winter periods) you can gain seatime (360 days) at a (sailing) vessel under class.
During this period, you perform the tasks from your taskbook.

After finishing, you can request a GZV Certificate of Proficiency from our school, which can be used to apply for a Dutch CoC for sailing vessels.

The same Certificate of Proficiency allows you to register for the education: "Officer all ships". This education is given in Urk at the 'Friese Poort'.

  • GZV certificate of Proficiency
  • Knowledge of Dutch language (level 2F/B1)
