TRAINING - deckhand inland waters
When you want to work on sailing vessels on Dutch inland waters, you need to apply for a service booklet ('dienstboekje').
In order to apply you must attend a deckhand training course.
This is a general training that lasts 3 days (from Thursday to Saturday) and consists of the following components:
1. use of life-saving equipment to prevent drowning
2. specific working conditions aboard a vessel
3. fire fighting on board a vessel
4. risks on board due to noise
5. handling hazardous materials aboard a vessel
6. First Aid basics
7. emergency alarm and evacuation
What we offer:
- A 3-day training course (recognized by the CBR) in Enkhuizen
- NO online components, everything is explained by real people
- NO test: attendance and (active) participation are sufficient
- An emergency response (BHV) certificate for participants who complete all components
